**PHENOM Sports Management was named the #5 Rising Sports Agency of 2012!!!**

Bobby Graves teamed up with Rhett Francisco to create PHENOM Sports Management at the encouragement of several of their professional athlete friends, who asked Graves and Francisco to use their talents, skills, connections, and values to provide athletes with relentless representation from the perspective of those who have “been there” and know “the game”.  As set forth below, Graves and Francisco have, indeed, “been there”, and they certainly have intimate knowledge of “the game” (both of the actual sport you play and the negotiations game that drives the business) because they have lived lives as athletes and they have engaged in the business of sport.

Graves and Francisco played baseball together at the youth level, where they each earned multiple selections to national and world champion all-star baseball teams.  Additionally, Francisco earned selections to multiple regional and conference champion football teams.  During that time, Graves and Francisco had the pleasure to play with (and often beat) many of the best athletes in the world.  Just a small portion of the list of those athletes includes MLB infielder Freddy Sanchez, MLB pitcher Jon Garland, MLB outfielder Jerry Owens, MLB outfielder Darnell McDonald, among many others and NFL quarterbacks Matt Moore and Kyle Boller.

Graves was recruited heavily out of high school and went on to pitch in Division I baseball for the national powerhouse University of Oklahoma and talent-rich California State University, Northridge.  He was an OU scholar athlete and during his time at Northridge, he garnered a national top-5 ERA in 2000.  Graves enjoyed successful summer baseball across the country during college as well, pitching in the prominent Alaskan Summer League and in the 2000 summer, he pitched for the National Champion Northern Ohio Baseball Club.  After college, Graves played over four seasons of professional baseball advancing to the Double-A level of the Detroit Tigers as the best fielding pitcher in the organization, as well as being a league leading pitcher in independent leagues around the country.  After his playing days, Graves earned his B.A. in Sociology at California State University, Northridge in 2009.  In 2010, he became a registered athlete agent in the state of Arizona.  Graves has also coached at the collegiate and youth levels in California and Arizona, respectively.  Graves currently serves as PHENOM’s President, as well as an athlete agent.

Although Francisco was offered an athletic scholarship to play college baseball back East, he chose to accept an academic scholarship to Claremont McKenna College, near Los Angeles, California.  In 2001, Mr. Francisco graduated from Claremont McKenna College, with a B.A., with honors, in Government.  While at Claremont McKenna College, Mr. Francisco was awarded the Berger Prize, a distinction bestowed on the College’s “Most Outstanding Senior.”  After college, Mr. Francisco briefly pursued a professional sports career that included stints in semi-professional football and mixed martial arts (MMA).  Mr. Francisco’s sports talents even landed him a featured spot on national television.  Mr. Francisco also went on to attend Loyola Law School in Los Angeles, where he was a member of the nationally-ranked (top ten) Byrne Trial Advocacy Team and the Editor-in-Chief of the Loyola Law Review (the Law School’s most distinguished and prestigious student position). By his graduation in 2004, Mr. Francisco also received special recognition for achieving the highest mark in Negotiations, the highest mark in Public Speaking for Lawyers, and the second highest mark in Mediation.  After graduating from Loyola Law School, Mr. Francisco worked for two large downtown Los Angeles law firms and a smaller Glendale law firm, where he obtained significant negotiation, arbitration, and litigation experience in areas of law that include complex contracts, professional malpractice, injury, business torts, and employment issues, among others.  Included among Mr. Francisco’s accomplishments are victories in numerous multi-million-dollar disputes.  Mr. Francisco currently serves as PHENOM’s general counsel, and as a registered athlete agent; he also continues to refine his talents as an amateur mixed martial artist.

At PHENOM, we use our talents, skills, knowledge, connections, and values to relentlessly represent the world’s most talented athletes and coaches in baseball, basketball, football, MMA, hockey, golf, and soccer, among other sports.  We also represent Olympians, broadcasters, and sports personalities.

At PHENOM, we are a family.  Your interests are our interests, and we work tirelessly to generate and secure opportunities for our clients, both on and off the field.  Such opportunities include professional and business opportunities in the areas of player contracts, coaching contracts, endorsements, licensing deals, speaking engagements, video game deals, Internet deals, and philanthropy, among others.
